Position Overview:
The Senior Manager - Tax will be responsible for all aspects of taxes for the operating subsidiaries.  This individual will report to Global Controller and manage multiple direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare income tax package supporting tax provisions and components of the tax provision (ASC-740) for the assigned operating entities
  • Manage transfer pricing for the assigned operating companies
  • Manage multi-state sales & use tax, Canada GST, unclaimed property and other miscellaneous state and local taxes
  • Manage all business license and maintain exemption certificates 
  • Manage and file annual property tax returns
  • Manage indirect tax audits for sales & use, property, GST, business licenses and other miscellaneous taxes.
  • Manage monthly account reconciliations and prepare journal entries for sales & use, GST, and other related taxes
  • Manage sales tax software, including taxability and nexus
  • Conduct tax research on various issues including state nexus and taxability.
  • Assist with SOX compliance, including maintaining and updating processes and controls related to indirect taxes.
  • Perform tax reserve and assessment calculations
  • Assist with compiling information and support related to our insurance policy renewal and other risk related inquiries
  • Assist with legal entity management database
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; preferably with a concentration in Accounting. 
  • CPA or a Master’s in taxation.
  • Minimum of 10+ plus years of tax experience, with a mix of private and public accounting.

Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of ERP systems(s), Oracle and/or SAP preferred; Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
