Spark R&D Aligner Technician (Pomona, CA)

We are looking for an R&D Aligner Technician to join our team.  You will help support the rapid growth of the Spark and Digital Orthodontic business unit of Envista.


  • Work cross-functionally to receive and setup new manufacturing line equipment, including Facilities, Safety, IT and Operations.
  • Operate process manufacturing equipment (3D printers, thermoforming, CNC, laser marking equipment, robotic arms and power tools) during verification testing, validation and production.
  • Order supporting components, fixturing and equipment for the manufacturing line(s) as needed.
  • Assist with training and the creation of training support documents; share process knowledge and best-practice techniques with production operators.
  • Assist in all activities related to product development –prepare samples for testing, perform routine testing, document results.
  • Provide support to developing processes in a production environment, including IQ, OQ and PQ as needed.
  • Provide and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance for tools.
  • Record daily work and maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Previous experience working on a Quality Assurance assembly line is a plus.
  • Ability to learn quickly and perform in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical skills
  • Must have high ethical standards with attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player with flexibility to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced, high-stakes environment.


  • High School diploma or equivalent formal education/training
  • A minimum 1 year of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word and Excel



  • R&D experience is a plus.
  • Experience with medical device or custom products is a plus.
  • Previous work experience in the dental industry is a plus.
  • Ability to read dental prescriptions is a plus.
  • Previous work experience with 3-D printing technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Team player that has a history of providing assistance and technical support.
  • Attention to detail and precision in his/her work.
  • Willingness to work independently with little to no supervision as well as within a team environment.
  • Willingness to adapt.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment; self- starter with the ability to work well under pressure is a plus.
  • High integrity in work product.
  • Clear and organized communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail as this will be a key component of data integrity and quality of machine setup.
