Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Leads and motivates a team responsible for Inventory planning, Capacity Planning, and Purchase Order placement.  Directly supervises Buyer/Planner(s) & Inventory Coordinator(s).
  • Maintains inventory level of finished products and raw materials to achieve Inventory Dollar and Turn goals, Customer On-Time Delivery goals and past due goals.
  • Supervises the cycle counting and auditing controls; and directs the annual physical inventories. 
  • Responsible for development of forecasts for all site products and managing the PSI process.  Works with Product/Marketing management, Sales management, Finance and Plant Management in the development of forecasts and production plans.
  • Responsible for the planning of initial inventory and schedule for all product launches. 
  • Directs shortage and expediting activities between Manufacturing, Buyer/Planners, QA and Shipping.  Takes corrective action as necessary. 
  • Responsible for the planning and scheduling of all raw materials to support production and attain productivity goals.  Establish and manage Kanban cards for all raw materials.  
  • Manages the Kanban process and makes adjustments based on changing demand. Makes timely changes to Kanban quantities and cards as required.
  • Create, issue and schedule purchase orders for raw material based on Kanban signals.
  • Active role to support, plan and implement PPV projects and VAVE projects.
  • Process NCR (Non-Conforming material Requests) for manufactured parts.
  • Reviews product for historical demand and forecast and makes recommendations for discontinuing products as appropriate.  Identifies obsolete materials and make recommendations regarding disposition.
  • Manages the supplier development process.  Proactively manages suppliers to provide optimal service and support inventory goals and objectives.  Manage the Corrective Action process with assigned suppliers.
  • Responsible for managing the seamless transitions on material and supplier changes without disruption to supply or customer service.  Manages the sample and first article approval process to ensure expeditious approval of new parts and suppliers.
  • Recommends process changes that could lead to more accurate material accountability or increased manpower efficiency.  Initiates best practice reviews to enhance material flow.
  • Assist in resolving any receiving issues. 
  • Responsible for fully understanding Oracle and utilize effectively. 
  • Open and close work orders as required.
  • Create and maintain departmental budgets.
  • Participate in the daily Gemba walks and provide updates.
  • Assures compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO regulatory requirements
Minimum Requirements: 
  • A Bachelors degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree required in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Inventory Management is required.
Preferred Requirements: 
  • CPIM and/or CSCP certification a plus. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or other ERP systems.
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Kanban, JIT and Logistics
  • Take-charge, hands-on, results-oriented manager with good people skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability in past job experiences.
  • Excellent analytical skills and team building skills.  Excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask in a changing work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word and Power Point.
