The Manufacturing Aligner Technician trims acrylic orthodontic appliances to fit supplied models.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following (other duties may be assigned)

  • You will work in one of several areas on the manufacturing line:
    • 3D Printing
    • TLC (Thermoform, Laser, CNC trimming) and Polishing
    • Quality Control
    • Shipping and Packaging
  • Trim orthodontic appliances according to Rx/Work Order using high speed bench mounted grinders, hand grinders, CNC machinery and other hand tools. 
    • A dental appliance is dental device that is fabricated specifically for treatment of a dental condition.
  • Occasionally help build dental molds using different prototyping processes.
  • Maintain equipment at 100% operating efficiency.
  • Provide and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance for tools.
  • Record daily work and maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Previous experience working on a Quality Assurance assembly line is a plus.
  • Ability to learn quickly and perform in a fast paced environment with strong analytical skills.
  • Must have high ethical standards with attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player with flexibility to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Must have clear and organized communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Responsible for filling materials over dental molds or setups using brushes and spatulas. They will also use thermoform clear plastic over the mold using thermoforming machines.

Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent formal education/training.
• 6+ months experience within a manufacturing environment or related field
• Basic MS Office skills; specifically MS Word and Excel
Preferred Requirements:
• Previous work experience with dental aligner buffing is a plus.
• Ability to read prescriptions or specifications and examine models and impressions to determine the design of dental products to be constructed.
• Previous dental industry experience; dental terminology is a plus.
• Able to produce appliances (acrylic orthodontic aligners) according to Rx/Work Instruction requirements.
• Team player that has a history of providing assistance and technical support.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Attention to detail and precision in his/her work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced team environment
• High integrity in work product

Language Skills:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
• Oracle experience is a plus.
