Position Overview:

Lead and coordinate activities of two technicians engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining production equipment. Time allocation: 80% engaged in maintenance and repair activities, 20% administrative duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment used in production and packaging of chemical products
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting including PLC and transducer data
  • Track status of repairs and review summary results with team to streamline PM schedule and spares planning
  • Submit requisitions for supply of spare parts and specialty repair services using Oracle
  • Programs and modifies programmable controllers
  • Obtains quotes for equipment & services; directs vendor services; work with Procurement, Quality to add new supplier to approved supplier list
  • Administers and maintains preventative maintenance records in an FDA regulated environment
  • Work with site EHS leader to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Timecard approvals, performance appraisals, and coaching of two Maintenance Technicians
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Four to ten years’ related experience and/or training
  • Four to ten years of experience with repairing and troubleshooting of electromechanical equipment

Preferred:

  • Robotics and Automation Technician certification
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software, email software and Word Processing software
