The Human Resources Director partners with a variety of business functions globally to support the rapid growth of the Spark and Digital Orthodontic business unit of Envista.  The successful candidate will enjoy all aspects of HR including both strategic and tactical.  This includes partnering with the L1 team on strategic imperatives, performing generalist activities, on-boarding, talent management, talent development, performance management and employee relations; all in alignment with the driving Envista Core Values and accelerating company growth.  This position reports directly to the Global Head of Human Resources, Spark and Digital Orthodontics. 



  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping business leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
  • Develop and leads people engagement efforts, is a steward of our culture and contributes to work that supports and defines the Spark business.
  • Lead and facilitates interactive sessions for employees at all levels of the organization on a variety of topics - from policies and programs, to leadership development initiatives.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on external and internal recruiting for a variety of role types. 
  • Advise and coaches management in appropriate resolution of employee relations and performance issues.
  • Drive talent development efforts for targeted employee populations.
  • Direct the development, implementation and coordination of policies and programs pertaining to employment, wage and salary management, incentive compensation, organizational development, orientation and training, placement, safety and health, benefits, Affirmative Action Plans, employee services and international labor relations. 
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of HR programs and policies. 
  • Conduct new hire orientations as well as the exit process.
  • Administer employee changes (i.e., promotions, transfers, salary increases, terminations).
  • Has current knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Provide support for special projects, both inside and outside of the HR function
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting of regulations affecting HR function (e.g. OSHA, EEO, TEFRA, ERISA, Wage & Hour).  Monitors exposure of the company. 
  • Direct a process of organizational development that primarily addresses succession planning throughout the corporation. . 
  • Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the fields of benefits, compensation, regulatory affairs, training/development, HRIS and communications. 
  • Oversee the proper application of HR policies and procedures at all multiple site locations.
  • Actively participate in the union contract negotiation, its administration and arbitration process of the grievance procedure. 
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan. 
  • Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs. 
  • Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits. 
  • Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law. 
  • Develop and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs. 
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization. 
  • Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends. 
  • Write and deliver presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices. 
  • This role will travel from our corporate Brea location to other sites both in Southern California as well as international offices as needed. 
  • This is a hands-on individual performer role that may manage a small team of 1 or more as deemed by company growth.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.  
  • Minimum 8 or more years of Human Resources Management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of business experience.
  • Prior work experience in healthcare (FDA) regulated industry; biotech, pharma, med device
  • Strong effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization
  • Estimated overnight travel is 10%



  • MBA is highly desirable.   
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience working in a Human Resources management role in the manufacturing industry with increasing responsibility.  
  • HR Certified (SPHR) or PHR preferred.
  • Global HR experience preferred.
  • Strong employment law knowledge
  • Workday HRIS experience strongly preferred or equivalent system.
  • Prior work experience in commercial “start-up” or rapidly growing division
  • Leadership Development certifications
  • Experience completing HR investigations
