Job description

The Senior Finance Reporting Specialist, Regional GL Accounting will act as the primary point of contact between the shared service center located in Prague and the regional Finance teams for the relevant Operating companies providing real-time financial insights, variance analysis, and decision support. This role ensures financial insights can be translated into strategic actions while maintaining strong collaboration with GL accounting Team and relevant other Finance function in the Share Services Center for reporting accuracy and compliance.

  • Perform monthly variances and trend analysis on P&L and balance sheet items and explain deviations to stakeholders. Provide financial insights to support decision-making across departments for specific Legal Entities.
  • Prepare and participate in business reviews, offering financial commentaries and risk/opportunity assessments.
  • Act as primary point of contact for Legal Entities in scope to address ad-hoc requests.
  • Prepare and document complex and non standard Journal Entries and handover them to GL accounting team for booking.
  • Closely collaborate with GL accounting Teams by proactively providing business insight, feedback on identified financial risks and opportunities to ensure high-quality accounting records.
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement by supporting and promoting process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance financial reporting timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and applicable accounting standards
  • Support audits (internal & external) in coordination of Statutory and GL accounting teams.

Job requirements

  • 5 years’ experience, preferably with a minimum of 2 years in a multinational corporation or global accounting firm
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of successful collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical financial skills. Ability to understand the balance sheet & income statement impacts of every transaction and to challenge or propose material accounting judgment entries, when relevant.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and processes.
  • SAP R3, Oracle, HFM knowledge is a plus.
  • US-GAAP and SOX experience
  • Higher degree in business administration or equivalent finance specific degree. CPA/ACCA or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required. Other European languages are a great advantage.
  • Demonstrate sound work ethic, respect and cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
