Job description

Summary

Innovation and product development are central to Orascoptic's growth. Our product development team designs and develops products used by dental and medical professionals every day, including industry-leading loupes, headlight systems, and digital visualization products that help clinicians see better, work more comfortably, and perform at their best.

We are seeking a technically strong engineer who is eager to lead electromechanical product development programs from concept through commercialization. In this role, you will serve as both the technical lead and project leader, working closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and development partners to bring innovative products to market.

This position is ideal for engineers who want to remain technically engaged while expanding their leadership influence. The successful candidate will combine strong engineering fundamentals with product development ownership, leading technical decisions, driving project execution, and helping transform ideas into commercially successful products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for assigned projects, driving technical decisions and guiding multidisciplinary development teams.
  • Translate customer, clinical, business, and regulatory requirements into product requirements and engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and external development partners to deliver successful product launches.
  • Evaluate, design, prototype, and validate electromechanical systems and components.
  • Lead design reviews and technical risk assessments throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to external design partners, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Support design verification and validation activities to ensure products meet customer needs, performance objectives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to support product industrialization, manufacturing readiness, and commercialization.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource requirements while balancing technical, business, and timeline objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and drive resolution of technical and execution challenges.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
