  • Coordinates with European distribution, commercial, and service partners to address customs clearance, carrier performance, delivery, documentation, and cross-border shipment requirements.
  • Evaluates routing, service levels, lead times, freight costs, and provider performance and recommends changes to improve delivery reliability and total landed cost.
  • Leads resolution of high-impact shipment delays, customs holds, claims, and service failures by coordinating internal stakeholders, brokers, carriers, and other external partners.
  • Manages freight providers, freight invoices, shipment claims, and service-performance reviews, including root-cause analysis and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Develops and maintains logistics work instructions, escalation paths, standard processes, and required international shipping documentation.

  • Establishes repeatable controls and standard work that reduce manual effort, prevent recurring errors, and strengthen compliance and operational performance.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. import/export requirements and applicable European customs and trade requirements.
  • Experience researching tariff classifications, country of origin, valuation, assists, and import/export documentation requirements.
  • Experience analyzing freight or compliance data, developing performance reporting, and translating findings into business actions.
  • Experience leading process improvement, cost-savings, carrier-performance, audit, or corrective-action initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 times per year, including potential international travel.
  • Ability to work across time zones when needed to support global partners and other international logistics activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with ERP systems and customs, transportation, freight-payment, or reporting tools preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate complex information, identify root causes, and recommend defensible actions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing risks and deadlines, and exercise sound judgment within established policies and escalation protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of international transportation processes and the interaction among customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, distribution partners, and internal functions.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and service providers without direct authority and to drive issues and improvement actions to closure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade and logistics requirements to non-specialists.
  • Strong project-management, documentation, and organizational skills with consistent attention to accuracy and control effectiveness.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems; experience with data visualization or reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures, countries, and time zones and to build productive relationships with global partners.
