Job description

The Global Business Team Director will be responsible for the full scope of the Spark product portfolio, with responsibility of the business results and gross margin improvements, through product positioning and innovation to meet growth and profitability objectives. The business includes Spark Aligners, Retainers and TDX digital platform. Beyond global product strategy, this role is accountable for translating that strategy into landed regional revenue and for owning the Spark KPI operating rhythm in partnership with Business Development, Global Marketing, and regional commercial teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads, designs and creates global product strategies for the orthodontic business to achieve the region growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with key team members (VP Portfolio, R&D, Regional VPs, regional Business Development, Marketing, Scientific Affairs, Clinical team, Education & Events, and Operations team) as well as the Ormco KEs to develop global product strategies aligned with Ormco Strategic Initiatives for growth.
  • Responsible for driving successful launches of new products through launch activities; as well as coordination of commercial activities in concert with technical and regulatory development.
  • Accountable for Spark NPI revenue landing in regions — partners with Business Development Managers and regional commercial teams to convert global launches into regional revenue, tracking against committed targets by market.
  • Owns the Spark/DSBU KPI framework: sets targets, and runs the monthly operating rhythm feeding the BU ops review.
  • Partners with Global Marketing to set and hold demand-generation targets (MQL/SQL) for the Spark portfolio, ensuring the demand chain is resourced to the growth commitment.
  • Manages the Spark software/TDX release cadence, ensuring marketing, training, and regulatory readiness keep pace with the release schedule.
  • Co-lead the Product Planning Group (PPG) in collaboration with the different regions along with VP Portfolio, VP R&D and commercialization teams. Ensures a strong business case (financial and technical) is developed for new products.
  • Participate in Strategic Planning and development of initiatives to meet expectations and goals on developing the Ormco Product portfolio.
  • Develop action plans, implement processes and meet deadlines for the Policy Deployment (PD) goals set forth within the department.
  • Understand and anticipate global Voice of Customer (VOC) to translate and shape customer needs into new product development requirements; uses fact-based research to identify market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on creating a full strategic product marketing plan from conception to launch.
  • Drive the organization toward superior quality of the entire product portfolio as well as a best in class customer experience.
  • Works with the Scientific Affairs team, Key Experts to establish the right scientific tools in support of new products as well as growth drivers.
  • Participates in the development of pricing strategies with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Manufacturing.
  • Works with regional sales and marketing teams to follow the LEx processes and establish regional goals, drive consistency in product development, deliver sales forecast, understand global customer needs and co-own alignment of regional marketing campaigns.
  • Master and leverage core Envista Business System (EBS) Tools to create best in class product management processes and continuously improve (kaizen).

Job requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years related experience and/or training; and equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in the dental industry, orthodontics preferred.
  • Ability to analyze market data and co-develop strategic marketing plan.
  • Experience in a culture of kaizen and business direction change.
  • Knowledge of effective sales and public relations techniques.
  • Preferred: experience leading a digital or software-enabled product line (aligners, platform, or SaaS) with a recurring release cadence.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, program management abilities and demonstrated success influencing global and regional teams in a matrix.
  • Solid organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, strong desire to learn.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must demonstrate ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other business entities.
