Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced leader to head our European Statutory Accounting organization. This role is responsible for statutory reporting and compliance across multiple European jurisdictions while driving process simplification, standardization and transformation. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise, leadership skills and solid experience in multinational environments and external audit coordination.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop the European Statutory Accounting function across multiple countries and legal entities, including a 6-member EMEA Statutory Accounting team.

Oversee end-to-end statutory compliance and reporting, including timely preparation, review and filing of statutory financial statements, reconciliations and statutory adjustments.

Ensure accurate local ledger and statutory postings, supported by complete ERP documentation and reconciled to filed statutory records.

Oversee reconciliations from US GAAP to Local GAAP and from Local GAAP to tax accounts, ensuring balances are accurate and fully substantiated.

Lead statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors, advisors, consultants, authorities, vendors and internal process owners.

Support corporate income tax returns and other local tax reporting with advisors, including FIN 48, soft/hard close tax packages, and responses to tax audits and inquiries.

Oversee local statistical reporting within accounting scope and maintain policies, controls and processes to support compliance with local legislation and internal requirements.

Drive process standardization, automation and transformation initiatives to create a more efficient and scalable operating model.

Partner closely with Finance, Tax, GL Shared Services Prague and external service providers to ensure effective delivery of statutory reporting requirements.

Monitor changes in accounting regulations and ensure ongoing compliance across all jurisdictions.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

15+ years of progressive experience in accounting, statutory reporting and audit, including leadership roles in multinational organizations.

Strong knowledge of statutory accounting requirements across Europe and experience managing multi-country reporting environments.

Solid understanding of US GAAP and its reconciliation to local GAAP frameworks.

Significant experience working with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Demonstrated success in leading finance transformation, process improvement and organizational change initiatives.

Strong people leadership skills with experience managing geographically dispersed and multicultural teams.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle and/or SAP.

Fluent English required; additional European languages are considered an advantage.
