Shipping Clerk (4 months Fixed-Term)

Job Description:

Purpose:

Responsible for order fulfillment in a high volume pick-pack operation as well as the reporting of shift KPIs and daily activities to the department supervisor.

Accountabilities:

  • Pick, inspect and verify customer order(s) for accuracy; process paperwork and labels for shipment; collect product from quality control station(s) within the facility on an hourly basis
  • Process orders at shipping station, store shipping material in a neat and orderly manner, and package/process shipments including paperwork, invoice, and shipping label
  • Perform stock checks for shipping supplies using inventory management system on a regular basis
  • Troubleshoot via SAP and shipping software for orders that do not process automatically to ensure on-time shipping according to customer expectation
  • Conduct and participate in continuous improvement meetings; ensure operator understanding and participation of the improvement activities
  • Participate in the creation, review, editing and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Conduct weekly 5S and workplace safety audits as well as other related assignments/activities/projects assigned
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new shipping associates
  • Ensure compliance to local and global Quality Management System per established procedures
  • Support and participate in internal/external quality system audits as required
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints about non-conforming materials
  • Investigate quality issues of package/labeling as needed and inform department leaders and/or quality assurance
  • This position requires participation in a Saturday work rotation with team members. Employees will be scheduled to work approximately two Saturdays per month, subject to operational needs.
  • Other tasks and duties may be assigned by supervisor and/or plant management

Job Requirements:

Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience in shipping & logistics, preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean Manfacturing and Six Sigma principles (Six Sigma yellow or green belt training and/or certification) a plus

Critical Skills/technical know-how:

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Network); SAP a plus
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 45 lbs
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Professional English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Ability to fully carry out instructions to completion
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Good knowledge of record keeping

Critical Experience:

  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience in shipping & logistics, preferred.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

$22.80 – $30.90 per hour
