Production Machine Operator II, 2nd Shift

Job Description:

The Production Machine Operator II is responsible for operating and maintaining machines to produce high-quality parts. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring production processes, performing quality checks, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. The operator ensures that production targets are met while adhering to safety and quality standards. Additionally, the Production Machine Operator II will take on more complex tasks, provide guidance to junior operators, and contribute to process improvements. The Production Machine Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain work areas, tools and molds to maximize equipment downtime through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S.
  • Fabrication, processing and assembling of various products according to MCI's (manufacturing control instruction), blueprint tolerances and specifications. 
  • Use standard mechanical tools accurately and occasionally lift light to moderate weights. 
  • Perform work with close tolerance and finish requirements and have a general knowledge of standard machining techniques.
  • Watch for malfunction of machine and/or product and reports any problems to Supervisor.
  • Keep record of products produced and will perform inspections as required by MCIs.
  • Monitor machine parameters as required.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines.
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes.
  • Provide training and support to junior machine operators.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Abide by defined plant and department safety policies.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Job Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • HS Diploma/GED and 2 year of related work experience (injection molding or similar manufacturing environment) or
    • 3+ years of related work experience
    • Strong communication in English (Reading, writing, and verbal) and teamwork skills.
    • Good mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and eyesight required. 
    • Able to read and interpret two-dimensional engineering drawings and blueprints.
    • Proficient time management/ sense of urgency
    • Leadership skills and the ability to help mentor and guide junior operators.

    Abilities:

    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the area Lead/Supervisor
    • Good knowledge of weight scales, measurements and mathematical skills
    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to learn and utilize computer for database applications.
    • Ability to stand and or sit for long periods of time as required by work schedule
    • Ability to lead or help mentor junior operators

    • Working hours and shifts will vary and are dependent upon the work cycles of the manufacturing operations as required by business needs. 
    • As needed, overtime will be required which will be mandatory.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
    • Due to the nature of product contents, careful handling and compliance to procedure is required
    • Ability to stand and or sit for long periods of time as required by work schedule.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

    Target Market Salary Range:

    Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

    $20.30 – $27.40 per hour
