Nobel Biocare Director, Operations-Procera Customized Production (On-Site Mahwah, NJ)

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nobel Biocare Director, Operations will effectively lead the Procera Customized Production organization in Mahwah, NJ in order to achieve company targets in EHS, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost of Production, as well as ensuring on-time/on-spec delivery of new product/process introductions in Operations, the successful development of Operations talent, and self-sufficiency in deployment of EBS tools.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct the Mahwah production operations by providing leadership and direction through managers for the following functions: Purchasing, Production, Inventory, Shipping, Engineering, and Maintenance.
  • Accountable for the performance and results of production operations and contributes to the development of the team’s functional strategy.                                                        
  • Develop the factory performance according to yearly set goals on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, & growth.
  • Lead production operations in support of Envista & Nobel Biocare opco projects & initiatives as assigned.
  • Develop objectives in Purchasing & Inventory mgmt. to drive continuous improvement in Supply Chain Health, to prevent production disruptions and support Procurement initiatives.                                                                  
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Facility leader(s). Supporting the Environment, Health & Safety function by ensuring compliance to EHS policies, standards, and regulations.  Set & drive achievement of annual EHS, Facility and Maintenance targets/programs.
  • Champion Envista Business System (EBS) understanding & deployment through Lean fundamentals in Operations, including development of continuous improvement roadmap, EBS Tool training, & Certified Practitioner assignment.
  • Actively support the Operations team in career/personal development to fulfill their aspirations.                               
  • Enthusiastically request employee feedback on the "state-of-operations" and pursue new ways to increase team engagement to create a proactive continuous improvement culture.
  • Serve as a member of the management team for the site.          

Job Requirements:

  • BS or BA Degree in Business, Operations or Engineering required.
  • 8+ years of experience in (Operations, Engineering, Supply chain, Shipping/Logistics., etc.); 10 years preferred.
  • 3+ years of proven leadership experience successfully leading people in one or more teams.
  • Possess a deep understanding and experience deploying Lean Mfg. tools and hands-on line management experience.
  • Ability and skills to simultaneously drive daily management and continuous improvement.          
  • Ability to champion continuous improvement and develop and install best practices across diverse business environments.
  • Excel in Teamwork among his/her group and with peer groups.
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Active listening skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience successfully leading people in one or more teams.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as Medical Device with high precision manufacturing or similar industries is a plus.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
