Senior Director, IT Strategy & Portfolio Governance

Job Description:

The Senior Director of IT Portfolio and Business Governance and Change Management will be responsible for establishing and leading the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), supporting the VMO with a focus on driving supplier management and oversight of a newly outsourced provider, and partnering with the VP of IT Business Operations to oversee the IT budget and specifically own all vendor related IT budget to ensure financial discipline and strategic alignment. This role requires a visionary leader with strong business acumen, financial expertise, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes as they will be guiding IT Strategy for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a structured Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to ensure strategic alignment of IT investments.
  • Define governance models, project controls, and best practices for cost, audit, and risk management.
  • Oversee demand management, IT portfolio prioritization, and execution monitoring.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics for project success.
  • Align the PMO framework with the existing Envista Business Systems processes.
  • Eventually establish and Innovation Fund that incorporates all Innovation spend across Envista, not just IT spend.

Vendor Management & Performance Partnership:

  • Develop and implement a supplier performance management framework with a focus on IT service providers, particularly new outsourcing engagements.
  • Monitor service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and vendor compliance to ensure business needs are met.
  • Partner with procurement and legal teams to optimize contract management and supplier negotiations.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to reduce the amount of suppliers in our ecosystem to drive down cost, simplify the architecture and modernize the employee experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance vendor efficiency and effectiveness.

IT Budget Oversight & Financial Stewardship:

  • Oversee IT financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to align with enterprise priorities.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies to maximize IT investment efficiency.
  • Ensure transparency in financial reporting and adherence to compliance and audit requirements.
  • Lead financial analyses to drive strategic decision-making regarding IT expenditures and capital investments.

Organizational Change Management and Communications Lead:

  • Establish communication strategy for Envista IT to support IT project delivery and operational aspects as well as Executive communications
  • Put in place models, newsletters, business communications and coaching and training for the IT organization
  • Driving alignment and overcome resistance to change
  • Partner with Corp Communications and HR to ensure alignment
  • As IT is changing our operating model, have a roadmap and strategy to have employees transition from a staff augmentation model to a managed service model

IT Strategy

  • Coordinate working with ITLT to put in 3 year strategy and roadmap
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and IT tower leads to develop domain strategy and then interlock and align cross-functionality
  • Incorporate business strategies once IT strategy is developed
  • Once developed and aligned, incorporate strategy into Innovation Fund

Job Requirements:

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • 15+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, supplier management, M&A integration, and IT financial management.
    • Proven track record in standing up and leading PMO functions in complex IT environments.
    • Extensive experience managing outsourced IT service providers and supplier performance.
    • Strong M&A leadership experience, with hands-on involvement in IT due diligence and post-merger integration.
    • Deep expertise in IT financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to navigate complex corporate structures and drive strategic alignment across business units.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PMP, ITIL, or related certifications.
    • Experience with blockchain, audit controls, and regulatory compliance in IT operations.
    • Familiarity with enterprise portfolio management tools and IT service management frameworks.

    Target Market Salary Range:

    Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

    $152,600 – $283,400
