Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift

Job Description:

We are looking for a maintenance technician to be responsible to ensure all maintenance equipment is in proper working condition and available for the support of machine uptime. The candidate will be able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, and improve sustainability and quality of product. Work continuously with the manufacturing production team to improve machine output, equipment effectiveness, and quality through Predictive and Preventative Maintenance. Assists Production team members in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Perform repair and maintaining electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of machinery and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Envista corporate model: S-DQIP- Safety, Delivery, Quality, Inventory, and Productivity.
  • Participate Daily Management meetings within the department, along with area leads.
  • Responsible for the 5S of the area, ensure all maintenance equipment is in proper working condition and available for the support of machine uptime.
  • Work continuously with the manufacturing production team to improve machine output and equipment effectiveness through performing routine predictive/preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Assists Production team members in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Perform repair and maintaining electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and modify programmable controllers.
  • Obtain quotes for equipment & services; directs vendor services.
  • Coordinate and improve flow within manufacturing area through supporting kaizen events.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and production team members for 24/7 shift maintenance team schedules optimizing the use of resources to support manufacturing productivity.
  • Maintain high quality standards and compliance throughout the areas while practicing GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Adhere to all safety standards on the manufacturing floor. Help to conduct Safety Incident investigations and complete reports. Participate in EHS Committee Meetings as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Flexible work schedule and other shift hours as required.
  • Some travel to our sister plants in Mexico and or equipment suppliers may be required.
  • Continuous Improvement focused, participation in improvement projects or Kaizen events
  • Strong commitment to safety and over safe practices.
  • Any duties or responsibilities assigned by Manager.

Job Requirements:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 4+ years related experience and/or training
    • 4+ years industrial electrical experience (480 VAC, 277 VAC, 208/120 VAC)
    • 4+ years electrical controls experience (Contactors, Relays, Power Supplies, Solid State Sensors, PLC’s, VFD’s, SCR Power Controllers, etc.)
    • Industrial forklift operation experience
    • Self-driven and motivated to succeed, positive mindset. Professionalism is a must.
    • Experience in general shop floor practices, 5S, tidiness and cleanliness
    • Experience with MS Office with emphasis on Excel

    Preferred Experience:

    • Certified Electrician
    • Automation maintenance, troubleshooting and repair experience 4+ YRS
    • Machining & Fabrication Experience 4+ YRS
    • Welding Experience, TIG, STICK, MIG, SS, Aluminum
    • CNC Programing
    • Strong background in Preventive & Predictive maintenance using CMMS & TPM techniques
    • CNC, EDM, Screw Machine trouble shooting and repair experience
    • Strong experience with Microsoft suite, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
    • Solidworks & Autocad Experience
    • HAZWOPER 40 HR, HAZWASTE Management, Spill Response Experience
    • PLC Software Experience: RSLogix 5000/ RSLogix Design, Direct Logic, Click 3.70
    • FANUC & UNIVERSAL Robot trouble shooting & Repair Experience
    • Metal Injection molding equipment (MIM), maintenance, troubleshooting & repair experience
    • Industrial sintering oven maintenance, troubleshooting & repair experience
    • Material properties and heat treatment knowledge, primarily for troubleshooting of sintering processes
    • Cooling Tower, process loop and water treatment equipment experience
    • Wastewater & storm water compliance experience

    Abilities:

    • Ability to work on technical repairs and projects unsupervised
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
    • Ability to interpret Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic Schematics/Drawings.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.

    • Exposure to solvents, oils, lubricants, plastic material fumes, ground glass, flammable & hazardous materials.

    Target Market Salary Range:

    Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

    $29.00 – $34.00 per hour
