Manager Warehouse Operations

Job Description:

Responsible for the incoming and outgoing of materials, reagents, instruments or equipment to meet customer expectations which involve receiving, shipping, and inventory/material control. Performs manual and/or clerical duties that may utilize various systems / WMS involved in receipt or preparation of materials for shipment.  Performs a wide variety of planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow.  Coordinates and monitors workflow, assisting in scheduling and prioritizing activities in assigned distribution area.  Maintains compliance with relevant local, country and international guidelines.  May have responsibility for fulfillment administration and processes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Direct and control warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing material goods (finished products, tool and packaging materials).

  • Provide orientation to employees in terms of company values and culture.
  • Manage operations quality in all aspects.
  • Lead by example.
  • Ensure that incoming material is inspected for conformity with order specifications and checked for defects.
  • Develop and recommend improvements in warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service and lower costs.
  • Prepare budget and operate within approved budget.
  • Manage the warehouse staff activities, so that the full team meets all internal and external requirements, KPIs and quality requirements on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for creating th best possible work environment for all employees.
  • Coach, train and review all employees of the warehouse, as well as making sure the hour attendance is in place and monitored.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, laws, procedures and policies.
  • Support global initiatives and/or projects.
  • Monitor staff to ensure that all machines and equipment are operated in a safe manner.
  • The manager warehouse operations is also the main responsible for the complete site whenever site management is not in.

Job Requirements:

Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge about warehousing on Bachelor level with a degree in e.g. logistics or supply chain management.
  • Background in a previous position is mandatory.
  • Be able to work in an international environment with a lot of internal international contacts.

Critical Skills/technical know-how: (what the role holder must be able to do)

  • Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 is an advantage
  • Be able to facilitate metings and participate as a member in various projects
  • Be able to manage smaller improvement projects

Critical Experience:

  • Previous experience (min. 3 years) as a supervisor or similar position is mandatory
  • Proven extended ledership skills and experiences
  • Proven communication skills are fundamental
  • Be able to carry out both operational tasks as well as questioning them to be able to constantly improve the way we work according to defined processes
